GWTT Rentals Division Manager Kevin Marchut recently was honored with a “Patriot Award” given by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) organization. The purpose of the award, according to ESGR, is to recognize employers who accomodate National Guard and Reserve servicemen and servicewomen through flexible work schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
Marchut was nominated by GWTT employee Christian Mazzocchi, who was deployed January 28 for a 400-day overseas tour as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Mazzocchi, an E4 (Specialist) in the US Army Reserve where he serves as a horizontal construction engineer, earned a bachelor degree in Environmental Studies from King’s College and has also earned multiple Army Achievement Medals and Army Certificates of Achievement during his active duty.
“Kevin and the whole GWTT staff truly support me and the US military as a whole,” Mazzocchi said. “The company allowed me to go on leave for two months before my deployment, while still holding my job for me. It is more people like Kevin, and GWTT as a whole, that we need in this country.”
The award was given to Marchut at GWTT headquarters in Wharton, NJ, by Jerry Felt on behalf of ESGR.
“The ESGR is proud of its service members and the employers that support them,” said Felt. “As a Branch of the Department of Defense, we are honored to present the Patriot Award on behalf of the Service members who wish to honor and thank their employers for supporting them and their country.”
