Project Narrative
GWTT was contracted to assist with the design, mobilization, rental, and demobilization of a temporary treatment system to treat for mercury and pH adjustment at a superfund site in Virginia. Heavy rains and a wetter-than-usual spring rainy season in the area caused the existing onsite retention basin to reach capacity. The client was accumulating overflow contact water in temporary frac tanks around the site but was almost out of space. The existing permanent treatment system could not keep up with treating the additional volume of water.
GWTT fabricated and mobilized a floating pontoon pumping system, influent flow meter, static mixer, pH adjustment tank with pH probes, controllers and dosing equipment, duplex transfer pumps, duplex bag filters, six 2,000lbs carbon vessels filled with specialty carbon media, and an effluent flow meter. All components were trailer mounted for ease of mobilization and quick start-up.
